As a former CCNA that is getting prepared to renew his credentials, I found this book to be very useful. Being rusty on certain aspects of the test can slow you down and there is definitely a time limit on the test, as well a hefty price for the attempt. So, getting the practice from all the labs in this book has really helped me feel prepared to take the CCNA test with confidence.
I can read all the theory I want, but when it comes down to it, I need to practice or I'll never learn the concept. Paul Browning has created an excellent set of labs that gives you hands-on experience. The labs are excellent and the book covers all the concepts you'll need to pass the CCNA.
At first, his material was like rain in a desert, but suddenly, in every lesson, more and more, he tells you to go search through previous parts of his book for the solutions you need. What the hell ? I bought three of his books so as to make this test easier for me, and now I'm searching everywhere in his book and I'm not even so sure about what it is I'm looking for. Thanks for the "run-around" Paul. I won't buy your books anymore.

These labs are all detailed, accurate and geared toward the objectives of the CCNA. Even with many years experience with Cisco and networking in generally there are still some things that I've learned from this manual. Paul is an excellent trainer and has many books and companion websites/videos to help you along your journey of obtaining the CCNA.
I'm a network engineer preparing for the CCNA and I can tell you that reading a book alone will not adequately prepare you for the CCNA exam. Hands on experience will give you the practice and confidence needed to pass the exam. !01Labs Cisco CCNA will help mainly in the area of simlet test questions in which you read a paragraph and answer questions designed to troubleshoot or mitigate a problem. Otherwise, you will spend a great deal of test time trying to sort out a best answer. 101Labs Cisco CCNA is a must do.
This book has practical learning scenarios. This is a great way to test your skills before looking at solutions. There is also much experience to be gained from setting up the labs incorrectly and trouble shooting the configs till the lab works, in this way there is much real world appliance. Unlike the title says, 101 Labs, actually has significantly more than 101 lab exercises!! I highly recommend working through this book.
In the world of Information Technology, more specifically networking, hands on practice is much or applicable than reading the information. Using the book as an additional study tool would make someone feel better prepared to sit for a certification exam and pass.
