Excellent "Tool" for using to track and measure Lenten Disciplines - both physical and spiritual. Could be used for any 40-day period, but especially for Lent or possibly Advent. Short chapters are very on-point for the 40 Disciplines.Only problem I have is the point system for the non-physical activities are far too generous compared to the "Steps" count.

Did as a summer walking group. We enjoyed and have decided we will do again at a later date-maybe at Lent.

Enjoying the book our church group is doing the walk together. Some find it repetitive but that's what Jesus most have felt on his walk.

Ms. Han has written two tales in this exceptional book. The first is a narrative of life in Yemen. She leaves the relative modernity of Sana'a and goes to teach English in Marib, a place that even the Yemeni people eschew. Body guards, heavily armed Bedouins, tribal feuds and strict Islam are the norm. She commits to teaching hospital workers where the hospital sits unfinished, the donated money long gone. She finds endless obstacles to her living there. At first she is barely appreciated, suspected of being a spy and a thief of antiquities. Her infrequent trips to her beloved desert and ancient sites are few and far in between. And yet, she is able to accept people for who they are, form friendships and maintain a wonderful sense of humor.The second story is very personal and painful. She finds herself slowly disappearing as the constant erosion of her freedom to make personal choices adds to her physical confinement. She loses her ability to write, which for her is losing life itself.This is an extremely well written book of adventure, acceptance and learning. I highly recommend it and think that it would be an excellent choice for book clubs.Márta M. Lépes

I liked Carolyn Han's book and felt I was there with her. I think it's a honest portrayal of the life in Yemen with the positives and negatives. It's a place I've had an interest in visiting but there a few books from travellers or Westerners living there. Forget the book about Yemen, THE WOMAN WHO FELL FROM THE SKY unless you are interested in the people who loved and admired her & how had she worked meeting deadlines for others.But this one, WHERE THE PAVED ROAD ENDS, is honest & recommended.

I was taken on an eye-opening and riveting journey in the land of the Queen of Sheba (Yemen) by American author Carolyn Han in her latest book Where the Paved Road Ends. The author and her desert cat, Zhara, experienced challenging and surprising adventures in Yemen, especially in the wild tribal region of Marib where Ms. Han taught English to hospital workers. Because of the dangers in Yemen she had a bodyguard (Mohammed) who challenged her free-spirited nature but also provided her with the safety she didn't want to admit she needed. Their relationship provided tension, relief and some surprises. Her account of crossing the desert on a camel (a dream of hers) is inspiring.I learned that women in Yemen definitely don't have the freedom, power or educational opportunities that we do in the USA. She describes her experiences so poignantly that I felt I was there with her when reading her book. Wearing the veil was expected of her and she shares her experience of making that adjustment.I liked the pace of this book and had a hard time putting the book down. i recommend this book to anyone who wants to know what it's like for a woman to live in a part of the world that seems like a time warp and is rich in ancient history, living traditions and mystery. The author seemed to lose herself and then find herself anew.

I buy a Thomas Kinkade calendar every year b/c I just LOVE his work so much! This year's calendar doesn't disappoint at all! I love that a lot of the art is not works that I'm familiar with, so I get to gaze upon new works of art every month. Additionally, the scripture is a nice touch! It's your typical wall calendar size, with blocks large enough to write a couple of appointments on.If you're a Thomas Kinkade fan, I highly recommend this calendar!

This Calendar was a big disappointment. It was smaller than the other Kinkade calendar I have ordered in the past therefore the beautiful frame my husband built me that always fit the other Kinkade calendars, this calendar was to small. Very disappointed because I bought 2 more for christmas gifts and they have the size frame I do so theirs didn't fit as well.

The calendar is beautiful. But I have a wood frame I purchased several years ago so I could hang the calendar on the wall which looks much better than just the calendar hanging on the wall. I didn't know that all calendars were NOT the same size. When the calendar came and I tried to put it in the frame it was smaller than the frame and would not work. It left over an inch on each side with the back of the frame showing and it was also shorter than the frame. I will use it hanging on the wall even though it doesn't look good. I refuse to pay another 18 for a calendar the right size. Don't understand why the calendars are not all standard size to fit the frame.

What can one say about a Thomas Kinkade picture except pure Master Piece!! Well, looking at the Master Piece each month is to rave about!! It is pure beauty. I must say I have to get one every year because I love his art!!

The old person that I bought this for loved it. I wish there was a way that you could tell Amazon that you are NOT buying something for yourself so that I could STOP getting suggestions to buy stuff that I would never purchase for myself.

I am kind of embarrassed admitting that I actually purchased something associated with Thomas Kinkade. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. We enjoy some of his works in the powder room so we must get a new T.K. calender each year to match the decor.

I find this to be one of the most difficult control theory books to use to learn control theory. The strength of this book is that there are many solved problems which can be used to test your understanding of the material in other control theory books, which do not provide answers to the end of chapter problems.

I like Schaum's outline books because they are concise and short and cover all the necessary parts you need to know about the subject. I have already read a few of them and enjoyed a lot. You can quickly and painlessly learn the main concept and practice with several solved questions. The main reason I bought this book was my lab members. They are students on computer science department and they do not know much about control systmes. Other books make it hard for them to start reading and understanding the topics, because they assume some backgrounds. This one is easy to read and follow and you can master the important things quickly without getting invlolved in unneccessary details.

This book is an improvement over the previous edition because analog and digital systems are covered at the same time. There are tried and true methods, like bode plots for simplicity, but you'll find the Nyquist and root locus coverage complete too. The price is a bargain.

This book was a great resource when I took my Modern Control Systems course.

Simply an excellent book. a real classic book in this subject, nobody could work in Control Theory if don't have this book in their hands..

Bought this hoping for lots of examples!es...has too much theory. Don't need another text book want, want a book of examples.

If you are thinking about this Hagadah, stop right now! Sure it contains the necessary components to lead a seder, but it is not particularly insightful and won't help you or yours to a better or fresher understanding of the text. The stories/legends that are interwoven within the Hagadah feel stale and poorly complement the text. Although they may be beloved tales of scholars of the Zohar, they fail to bring inspiration to the reader. You would be far better off digging out your parents old "Maxwell House" Hagadot out of the attic.

Gave as a gift and they loved it. Arrived in good condtion and on time. The material added to their Passover experience.

At our seder,with our mixed religious group,it is hard to get intellectual, and have deep discussions about some of the rabbinical commentaries. What is easier to do is to get folks to think about the symbols of the Passover experience ie matzah, charoset, maror, egg , etc and ask the group to imagine the "deeper meaning" of the seder symbols on a personal level. A Mystical Haggadah gave me the needed material to explain to our attendees the "invisible world" of sefirot through the ritual objects/eatings of the Passover service. I then used the Seder Plate and the ritual dippings, matzah eatings as a "Jewish Show and Tell" (reading to the group from book's mystical explanations as we went along). The book is well written and for an interested, more knowledgeable Jewish group, this book would really add to the spiritual essence of the Passover experience. I would highly recommend it to a seder group who wants to "go deep"!!

Completely misleading title! The title of this book is "600 AIR FRYER Recipes", yet all the recipes are for a pressure cooker! Boo! Hiss!

Looking for Air Fryer recipes? This book is about cooking with the "Instant Pot" which is not just an air fryer. The title is very misleading.

The book says air fryer but what I got was instant pot recipes. Not complaining because it was a free download and I do have a pressure cooker.

I'm a happy camper. I discovered this recipe book also has nutritional information which, to me, is wonderful since I'm specifically using my air fryer to cook healthier meals with no or little oil. (I'm dieting). I think what makes this air fryer cookbook unique is that it has many "foreign" recipes, in particular Middle Eastern ones, which I really enjoy eating out, but haven't had any kind of recipe book to make at home. So, this book has many wonderful recipes that should fit anybody's palate. I personally think this cookbook might be slightly better for more experienced cookers and not true beginners. In just scanning through the book, many of the recipes have over six ingredients which might be intimidating to some. I'd recommend a thorough reading of the recipe way before making, just to make sure all ingredients are available. For me, this is an absolutely superb cookbook and will be one of my go-to books when I use my air fryer.

Cookbook is poorly organized. Upon receiving it, almost every recipe that I spot-checked had unclear instructions. Apparently written by someone who is not totally familiar with English usage. Even the author's name is in question....on the front of the book it says Mary Gray, and on the back page it says Mery Gray. I planned to give the cookbook as a gift with an air fryer for Christmas, but think it would be more confusing than helpful for my granddaughter, who is new to cooking.

I would return it if I could, but I waited too long. Let me first say that I work with websites. Aesthetics are a thing. This book gets an F. There is no logical flow and the text and there are no images to guide the reader. In addition, the instructions seem to skip steps. The grammar is poor and makes me question the accuracy of the text.My biggest issue with the book is with the measurements. I've already stated that I work with websites. Keeping that in mind, I am not a chemist, scientist or mathematician by any stretch of the imagination. This leads to my biggest issue with the book. Partial ounce measurements for dry ingredients. One recipe which comes to mind called for .34oz of sugar. I don't know anyone who measures dry ingredients in partial ounces; without a scientific scale, I'm not even sure how to get an accurate measurement of .34oz. Going back to my previous comment regarding the accuracy of the text based on poor writing, I question if this is supposed to be 3/4 or .34. A minor blunder such as this could destroy a meal.Unless you have classroom science class equipment laying around your kitchen, this book is probably not the one you are looking for.

Expectations met on these air fryer recipes. There are recipes that can be done even without the air fryer. Some can be done on an instant pot. I still like to use this AF though. It's handy and efficient.

Not at all useful to a new air fryer owner. You’ll be happier watching videos. I have no interest in preparing 95% of the recipes. Nice book.
